Hear on. Live on.

Hearing Aids at The Hearing Center

Tejas Hearing Aid Center has been helping patients like you hear better and live better since 2005. During that time, we've seen a lot of amazing breakthroughs in hearing aid technology. And we're thrilled to be able to offer the most advanced hearing aids on the market today. We are an independent practice carrying multiple brands of hearing devices, so we are free to recommend the hearing aids we think will best help your hearing loss regardless of who makes those hearing aids.

Kinds of Hearing Aids

We offer hearing aids from all of the major manufacturers: Oticon, Signia, ReSound, Starkey, Widex, Phonak, and more. That's how we are able to help so many patients have such good experiences.

We stock many hearing aids directly in our office, which means that you may be able to go home with new hearing aids the same day you come for your evaluation. No need to wait for a special order to come in. We're very excited to be able to offer this because we love seeing what a difference it makes when someone tries on hearing aids for the first time, and we want you to be able to experience that benefit yourself as soon as possible.

The Right Hearing Aid

There's no "best hearing aid" because every person's hearing loss is different, so what works best for you isn't necessarily what would work best for someone else. At Tejas Hearing Aid Center, we believe in taking our time and getting to know you so we can help you find the hearing aids that will give you your life back.

Right now, we're very impressed with the hearing aids being produced by Oticon. If you're looking for the most sophisticated and powerful technology, Oticon's premium hearing aids are giving incredible results. But each of the hearing aid brands has its own strengths, and we'll base our recommendation not on what is the most expensive or powerful but on what we think will help you hear best.

Oticon Opn S

We believe it is important to stay ahead of the latest trends and technology in the hearing industry so we can continue to provide our patients with the expert care they deserve. We recently attended a two-day training event with EarQ and Oticon in Denver, Colorado, where we learned about new ways we can offer you the best possible hearing healthcare experience.

We were also one of the first in our area to be trained on the newest Oticon technology, including the Opn S. The Opn S is different because it is the first device to deliver speech understanding on par with normal hearing. This means you can take a more active part in difficult listening situations and understand more with less effort.

The Best Hearing Aids for You

Choosing the right hearing aids takes time, experience, and someone who truly listens to you. It's a collaborative process where we share our expertise and learn from you what you need and want out of your hearing aids. This is based on the conversation we have with you when you first arrive in our office as well as the results of your hearing tests. We look at a few different factors:

  • Your hearing loss. Is it mild or severe? Do you have difficulty understanding the words you hear, or do you mostly just need a little amplification? Do you have tinnitus?
  • Your lifestyle. Do you spend most of your time at home, or are you often on-the-go in noisy environments such as an office, restaurants, or sporting events?
  • Your budget. Hearing aids are available at many different price points, and we work with you to try to find something that fits your budget.

One of the biggest considerations is what level of technology you want. Hearing aids generally can be purchased at one of three levels, from simplest (and least expensive) to most advanced.

  • Standard hearing aids are best for people who do not need much noise reduction. This is ideal if you tend to stay home or in small group settings, talking with friends and family.
  • Advanced hearing aids do well if you go out more often and are active but don't necessarily need top-tier technology.
  • Premium hearing aids are the most advanced technology on the market today. They have extremely powerful noise reduction as well as other features to help you get the most out of your hearing aids.
